Programs

"The use of artistic modalities help people with mental illness recover and rebuild their lives." - Perry Wien, MSW

Programs:

University interns design and run weekly art classes with 10-20 mentally ill adults some who are unable to live independently. The classes last an hour and take place locally, at locations overseen by Community Psychiatric Clinic and by Seattle Mental Health. Interns attend non-profit board and committee meetings and participate in fundraising activities. The classes allow for a wide latitude of activities and goals. This year we have had 1500-2000 individual contact hours. Interns from the UW, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, and Seattle Community College all help us teach, organize, write grants, and support us.
