Circle of Friends Arts / Crafts Session

Goal(s):

Students practice conceptualizing skills, eye-hand coordination and communicate feedback for directed actions. ~Imagination flexing, meditative and fun.

 

Materials:

Square pieces of paper of various colors and sizes. “Blueprint” of each design with directions.

 

Length: 60 minutes

 

Lesson Plan

 

Synopsis: {Origami}

Students will work with the instructor and each other to produce Origami creations. Students will be encouraged to design their own incarnations of animals, plants, etc.

 

 

 

Detailed Directions:

 

1.     Students will choose an animal or other design to fold.

 

2.     Each student will pick out a couple different colors of paper that correspond to the number of each “blueprint” they want to make.

 

3.     Students will follow the “blueprint” and teacher or facilitator to complete each step of folding their creations.

 

4.     Afterwards students will be encouraged to display their work and teach others.
