Week one: Paper
Collage Cards.
Materials
needed:
1.Cardstock (8 ½ x 11 is fine)
2.Paper scraps from:
Wrapping paper, paper bags, foil candy
wrappers, wrapping tissue paper, old wallpaper, handmade decorative papers
(rice paper etc), decorative paper napkins, magazine pages, food labels,
envelopes, canceled postage stamps and whatever else you might find.
3. old ribbons
etc.
4. Glue sticks (I use the UHU glue in
the yellow tube which is great for paper to paper adhesion.
Objectives:
1.
To emphasize that
you can make art from ANYTHING!....even the humblest
of things that you might normally just throw away .
2.
To emphasize
Composition on a page:
Symmetrical and asymmetrical balance.
Visual tension etc.
3.
To emphasize
Textures and contrast (smooth and rough, shiny and matte, etc)
4.
To demonstrate
gluing and collage techniques.
5.
To have fun!
